How to Start Slowing Your Pace
A person in hurry makes mistakes - Proverbs 19:2b (GW)
IN ORDER TO SLOW DOWN, I MUST...
1. Stop the constant push for more
there's a tendency to always want to out do others but Ecclesiastes 4:6 states It is better to have only a little, with peace of mind that be busy all the time
A relaxed attitude lenthens a man's life; jealousy rots it away - Proverbs 14:30 (NLT)
2. Learn to say NO
Matthew 5:37 (NKJV) states But let your YES be YES and your NO, NO. For whatever is more than these is from the evil one.
Although you want to, you shouldnt say yes to everyone. Typically when you have a deficit in your life, you feel the more you give, the more you'll be valued/accepted. Understand that you are valued by God. Be sure in your YES...people can tell when you're being hesistant. Dont give so much of yourself that you neglect yourself
An impulsive vow is a trap; later you'll wish you could get out of it - Provers 20:25 (MES)
it is easier to get into something than to get out of it. Dont over commit yourself to everything. It's okay to say No
3. Obey the 4th commandment
You have six days in which to do your work, but the seventh day is a day of rest dedicated to ME - Exodus 20: 9-10
The bible is filled with principles for life. It is the owner's manual for life. The things in the bible are not suggestions - they are commands. The human nature is of course to do otherwise but understand that this is a commandment of God. There are other commandments...such as dont steal, dont murder...and of course we live by that but the 4th commandment states to take the day off. You need to be able to refocus and recharge yourself.
It is useless to rise early and go to bed late, and work your worried fingers to the bone. Dont you know God enjoys giving rest to those He loves? - Psalm 127:2 (MES)
4. Wait for God's Timing
"...God does everything just right and on time. But people can never completely understand what He is doing." - Ecclesiastes 3:11 (NCV)
If you're in a hurry, it means you're impatient. Impatience implies a lack of trust in God. There are people who are married because of impatience. They refused to wait on God to honor His Word to them. The same thing happens in business and personal relationships. We try to make things happen for ourselves instead of waiting on God
Be patient, therefore, brothers, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient about it, until it receives the early and the late rains." James 5:7 (ESV)
We should be like the farmer that waits on the latter rain, knowing that it is what's required to make his crop more robust for harvesting. Dont try to do things on your own. Always wait/rely on God
Prayer point: "God, make a fresh start in me, shape a Genesis week from the chaos of my mind." -Psalm 51:10 (MES)

Cell Phone vs Bible (a forward shared by a coworker)
What if we carried it around in our purses or pockets?
What if we turned back to go get it if we forgot it?
What if we flipped through it several times a day?
What if we used it to receive messages from the text?
What if we treated it like we couldn't live without it?
What if we gave it to kids as gifts?
What if we used it as we traveled?
What if we used it in case of an emergency?
What if we upgraded it to get the latest version?
I was thinking on my way home, got touched by the Spirit, so I wrote this.
Something to make you say hmmmmmmmmm, and where is my Bible?

Deciding to Quit (a fwd shared by a friend)
I quit my job, my relationship, my spirituality...
I wanted to quit my life.
I went to the woods to have one last talk with God.
"God", I said. "Can you give me one good reason not to quit?"
His answer surprised me...
"Look around", He said. "Do you see the fern and the bamboo?"
"Yes", I replied.
"When I planted the fern and the bamboo seeds, I took very good care of them. I gave them light. I gave them water.
The fern quickly grew from the earth. Its brilliant green covered the floor. Yet nothing came from the bamboo seed. But I did not quit on the bamboo. In the second year the Fern grew more vibrant and plentiful. And again, nothing came from the bamboo seed.
"But I did not quit on the bamboo."He said.
In year three there was still nothing from the bamboo seed. But I would not quit.
In year four, again, there was nothing from the bamboo see.
I would not quit." He said.
Then in the fifth year a tiny sprout emerged from the earth.
Compared to the fern it was seemingly small and insignificant...But just 6 months later the Bamboo rose to over 100 feet tall.
It had spent the five years growing roots. Those roots made it strong and gave it what it needed to survive.
"I would not give any of my creations a challenge it could not handle."
He said to me. "Did you know, my child, that all this time you have been struggling, you have actually been growing roots?"
"I would not quit on the bamboo. I will never quit on you."
"Don't compare yourself to others." He said. "The bamboo had a different purpose than the fern. Yet they both make the forest beautiful."
"Your time will come", God said to me. "You will rise high"
"How high should I rise?" I asked.
"How high will the bamboo rise?" He asked in return.
"As high as it can?" I questioned.
"Yes." He said, "Give me glory by rising as high as you can."
I left the forest and bring back this story.
I hope these words can help you see that God will never give up on you.

What to do when waiting on your miracle
Picture this:
You're on your way home from work when you get a phone call to pick up some items from the grocery store. No problem! You pick up the 5/6 items requested and proceed to the Express lane
EXPRESS LANE - 10 ITEMS OR LESS - CASH ONLY
You're #2 in line...Tell me what you're doing. Like most, you're counting the # of items the person before you has and it looks like they've exceeded the total. So you recount just to be sure
TWELVE ITEMS!!!
so you do the christian thing. You huff and you puff and mutter under your breath. To make matters worse, this person whips out a check book. This time you're livid and may want to take action
OKAY SO MAYBE THAT'S NOT YOU
what about when you're driving above the limit in the fast lane. You're late for an appointment and there's someone infront driving just below the speed limit but refuses to change lanes. What do you say at that point? God Bless you? Probably not
The point is waiting is difficult. We live in a society where we want instant gratification. Patience is not high on our list...
Below are 6 principles to follow when waiting on your miracle
1. Be not afraid (v36)
2. Only believe (v36)
3. Surround yourself with positive people (v37)
4. Kick out the negative people from your life (v38-40)
5. Speak life into your situation (v41)
6. Feed your miracle(v43)
